Industry experts predict that professions such as AI-solution architect, machine learning engineer, computer-vision expert, and roboticist will soon be in high demand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">That\u2019s where the Boston University <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cds-faculty\/\">Faculty of Computing &amp; Data Sciences<\/a> (CDS) comes in. To train the next generation of data scientists and AI practitioners, BU launched a three-year AI cluster hiring initiative in fall 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Led by CDS, in collaboration with other academic units across the University, the initiative covers foundational, methodological, and use-inspired dimensions of AI. From a pool of almost 600 applicants, four were ultimately recruited: <\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b>ALDO PACCHIANO, JOSHUA PETERSON, DEEPTI GHADIYARAM<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\">, and <\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b>XUEZHOU ZHANG<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s1\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWe are recruiting the best of the best,\u201d says <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/hic\/profile\/azer-bestavros\/\">Azer Bestavros<\/a>, William Fairfield Warren Distinguished Professor and associate provost for computing and data sciences, \u201cand positioning Boston University as a center of excellence in AI.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From supercharging data analysis to improving human health and rehabilitation to building smarter, faster, and more reliable supply chains, AI is creating new opportunities to enhance our capabilities and understanding of our world.
