Sandvik<\/strong><\/a>, and historians <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/history\/profile\/bruce-j-schulman\/\"><strong>Bruce J. Schulman<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/profile\/quinn-slobodian\/\"><strong>Quinn Slobodian<\/strong><\/a>. This honor will advance their stellar\u2014and, in one case, interstellar\u2014research.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/wheelock\/profile\/elizabeth-bettini\/\"><strong>Elizabeth Bettini<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/profile\/michelle-sander\/\"><strong>Michelle Sander<\/strong><\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/biology\/people\/profiles\/zeba-wunderlich\/\"><strong>Zeba Wunderlich<\/strong><\/a> have all received a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/articles\/2025\/bu-researchers-win-early-career-scientists-and-engineers\/\">Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers<\/a> for their respective areas of study: inequitable access to special education teachers, ultrafast lasers and optical imaging systems, and how gene activation is encoded in DNA.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Biologist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/biology\/people\/profiles\/lynne-chantranupong\/\"><strong>Lynne Chantranupong<\/strong><\/a> has been named a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/articles\/2025\/bu-biologist-receives-2025-sloan-research-fellowship\/\">2025 Sloan Research Fellow<\/a> for her work investigating how brain cells remain healthy over a lifetime, as well as how neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson\u2019s and Alzheimer\u2019s disrupt them.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/camed\/profile\/denise-sloan\/\"><strong>Denise M. Sloan<\/strong> <\/a>received the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/camed\/2024\/10\/09\/denise-m-sloan-phd-honored-for-traumatic-stress-research\/\">Robert S. Laufer Award for Outstanding Scientific Achievement<\/a> from the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies for her work on the development of new therapies for people with PTSD.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Engineer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/profile\/alex-green-ph-d\/\"><strong>Alexander A.
