Dear Friends and Colleagues,<\/h3>\n

YOU ARE WHY.<\/h4>\n

\"BostonAt Boston University, we care about people and challenge one another to make discoveries that serve society. We are doers who come together to create a better world.<\/p>\n

In my first year as president, we\u2019ve launched initiatives to build upon our expertise in convergent research, to align with Boston Medical Center to speed research breakthroughs and identify insights to improve health, to better understand how we can use artificial intelligence for good, to make the arts front and center on our campuses, and to define and raise up our community\u2019s shared values.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve made tremendous progress with you, and the communities we serve, in mind.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why we\u2019ve also launched a coordinated effort we\u2019re calling \u201cYou Are Why,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0to think differently about how to make progress in a changing world, through innovative thinking and uncommon partnerships. It is about the people we serve\u2014in Boston, across the country, and around the globe.<\/p>\n

Of course, Boston University is already doing incredible things. And we are motivated by one thing\u2014you.<\/p>\n

You are why:<\/h4>\n
