The Year in Giving: Generational Generosity
Because of the generosity of alumni, donors, and partners like you, Boston University is breaking scientific ground, expanding knowledge, and opening doors of opportunity for the next generation. Here are some highlights:
Two anonymous donors have dedicated $2 million to the Center for Innovation in Social Work & Health in support of the role of social work in healthcare and public health, $1 million for the Center on Forced Displacement, and $500,000 for Men’s Rowing.
Trustee Antonio Gomes (LAW’96) and Maria Cristina Dos Santos De Souza (Pardee’20) have made a generous pledge to support scholarly work and programs at the Pardee School’s Center for Latin American Studies.
Thanks to a $1.5 million gift from Helen and Edward Hintz, parents of a Wheelock alum, and a new $1.2 million gift from José Blanco, the Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation can speed its work to empower people with psychiatric conditions.
The estate of Andrew Randall (Questrom’69, LAW’72) has donated $2 million for faculty recruitment and retention at the School of Law.
Kim Lessow Crockett (LAW’97) gave $700,000 to support the Program on Reproductive Justice at the School of Law, which enabled the hiring of an executive director and supports the Reproductive Health Law Fellowship Fund.
Carrie and Timothy Burr (MET’97), Andrew Robertson Black (GRS’03,’10) and Margaret Hewitt Black (MET’88), Terry Fassburg (COM’69), and Susan Sloan joined more than 250 other members of the William Fairfield Warren Society, honoring those who give $1 million or more to Boston University.
